Big Valley Jamboree is an annual outdoor country music festival held over the August long weekend in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. The upcoming dates for Big Valley Jamboree 2026 are July 30 to August 2. Weekend passes or daily admission tickets are available online to purchase well in advance. You can stay in nearby Camrose or choose the camping option around the concert area.
Big Valley Jamboree, aka BVJ, has been on my bucket list for close to 10 years. Add Jason Aldean to the lineup, and suddenly it became a double-stacked adventure. I received two BVJ tickets for my birthday, and even though I had just broken my foot and was stuck wearing an air boot, I still managed to make it out and enjoy the night.
Anyone who’s been to BVJ knows that Sunday is infamous for bad weather, and 2025 stayed true to form. On Sunday, August 2, 2025, the storms around Camrose were intense. I had a three-hour road trip ahead of me and came very close to not going at all. At the absolute last minute, I decided I was going anyway. If the festival got cancelled, at least I could say I tried.
To my surprise, the rain held off just enough for the country artists to perform. I wrapped my air boot in a plastic bag, found my friend, and made it into the concert bowl just in time for Jason Aldean to take the stage.
For a first-time BVJ attendee, it was definitely a learning curve. Shuttles and pickup locations were tricky to figure out, and we somehow ended up lost wandering through the festival camping areas. Still, it was an incredible experience with great food, high energy, and true Alberta country music festival vibes.

I found a picnic table near the back of the crowd to rest my foot in the airboot. I have to admit, you couldn't hear the music here when Jason was performing. But when Nate Smith was on, I could hear it a few kms away quite clearly.

Usually I get right up in the action at concerts and attempt to get near the front. But not this time with an injured foot. Glad for the big screens!

Sunday is known for its awful weather for Big Valley Jamboree. 2025 held up the same. All morning it was very windy and thunderstorms. I was happy to see the sun for awhile driving up to Camrose!
