When the CPKC Holiday Train rolled into London, Ontario it was met with a huge cheer from hundreds of spectators gathered along the tracks to welcome it. The CPKC Holiday Train is a beloved annual tradition that spreads festive cheer across Canada and the United States. Moreover, since its first journey in 1999, this beautifully decorated train become a symbol of hope, generosity, and community each holiday season.

Each November and December, the festive Holiday Train rolls along CPKC’s rail network, making half hour stops in communities both large and small across Canada and the US. What makes it so special is not just the twinkling lights wrapped around a long line of boxcars, but the heart of the event: a boxcar stage that pops open to host live musical performances from top artists, free for everyone to enjoy. This year's performers include JJ Wilde, Smashmouth, Barenaked Ladies, American Authors, and more.

At each stop, the Holiday Train becomes a platform for more than just music — it’s a charity drive in motion. Local residents are invited to give back by donating money or heart-healthy food to local food banks, and CPKC matches their generosity with its own contributions. Over its long history, the program has raised tens of millions of dollars and collected millions of pounds of food for local food programs.

The train presents a truly magical spectacle, with its boxcars wrapped in thousands of the LED lights, vintage passenger railcars, and a special carriage that pops open into a moving concert stage that spans both sides of the tracks. However, the CPKC Holiday is more than just a moving spectacle, it's a powerful showcase of community spirit, kindness, and the simple joy of giving that draws people of all ages and walks of life together.
