Great Blue Herons are a common sight on Prince Edward Island, and the Bedeque Bay Important Bird Area is an excellent spot to get an up-close-and-personal view of these huge birds and snap some photos while hanging out on the red sandy beach.

Wow I’ve never seen a Great Blue Heron before! I enjoy bird watching in NL but I mostly see Bald Eagles, osprey, puffins and gannets. -
