The Syphon Falls hike near Salmon Arm in British Columbia Canada is a nice short hike, about 1.3km total there and back. Featuring a small 2 stage waterfall with some ropes to climb and explore the area, as well as the trickling sound of Syphon Creek on the hike in. This trail is easy to moderate, with lots of rocks, roots and minor elevation gain. Depending on what time of year you visit Syphon Waterfall, will determine the amount of water flowing over. When I visited this area in August a few years ago, it had a much strong flow than when I visited recently at the end of October. This is a beautiful hike in both the summer and autumn months. I've never been during the spring melt, but it would obviously be the largest flow of water at that time.
Climb the ropes if you're feeling confident to get higher up the waterfall, or take the rope trail to get to the top of the falls. The rope trail is definitely considered hard in comparison to just getting to Syphon Falls. A fun family friendly hike near Shuswap Lake in B.C.

The sun was setting, but with Syphon Falls being such a short hike, we knew we'd have lots of time to complete this 1.3km hike before dark set in.

Watch your step, especially with the fallen leaves covering the trail. It is still very easy to find and follow the trail, even with all the ground cover

There is a small parking lot at the trailhead on 60 St NW for the Syphon Creek trails in Salmon Arm. A nice quiet hike in a beautiful forest.

If you're feeling brave and confident, the rope trail beside Syphon Falls will get your heart racing as you climb an almost vertical trail with a rope. I wouldn't recommend doing this section if you are alone, just in case something happens.

Here is a shot of the uphill climb beside Syphon Falls. It is extremely steep and unforgiving with all the rocks exposed. This section is very hard and not for the faint of heart of less experienced hikers.

I've done this trail a couple times at different times of the year. I have always had this trail to myself, making it extra enjoyable and relaxing listening to the sounds of nature along Syphon Creek

Injuries have been reported here so be careful if you're going to attempt this section of the trail
