Superstitious adventure seekers beware. Thirteen Pies and Pizza Bar's name does indeed come from the unlucky number 13. There are also 13 pizzas on the menu....

Did you know that 13 is an unlucky number for more than just the ill-fated Templar Knights? It is also unlucky in Christianity and Norse traditions. But don't worry it is a lucky number in Italy, China, Japan, and in Ancient Egypt. So, the way I see it is that there are 4 that are lucky to 3 that aren’t, so lucky 13 wins! Either way, it is up to you to decide how you feel about superstitions. Regardless, Thirteen Pies in Saskatoon makes a fantastic pizza if you are willing to risk it.

What horror movie did this old vault come from? Sorry to disappoint on this one. This historic building was the home of Birks Jewelers for 92 years. It is the store's original vault that adds character to Thirteen Pies Pizza & Bar decor. As much as Saskatoon seems to love a good ghost story, I couldn't find any references to the historic Birks Building being one of them.

13 Pies is slaying the Saskatoon craft cocktail scene! Our picks were the Ma-Sha-Tay, Tide you Over, Small Beginnings, and the Ms. Carly Beth. I could be biased, but in my humble opinion the Ms. Carley Beth that I ordered was the obvious winner of the best cocktail that night. It is made with gin, Campari, prosecco, mango syrup and lemon.

There are 13 horror movie inspired pizzas to choose from. They have fun names like, "The Pies have Eyes", "I Know What you Ate Last Summer", and "The Killer Cheese from Outer Space"...any guess on what pizza #13 on the menu is called????
