It’s unanimous! Canada Adventure Seekers favourite Moose Jaw excursion is paddling on the river through the Wakamow Valley.

We rented canoes, kayaks and paddleboards from Moose Jaw River Adventures and Tours. They are located in Kiwanis River Park. The park is directly across the road from the Lorne Calvert Campground, making it a VERY short walk for campers.

Rentals are available on an hourly, 1/2 day, and daily basis. Seasons passes are also available.

The Moose Jaw River is so tranquil and quiet that you almost forget that you are paddling through a city until you come around a bend and find some beautiful home along the riverbank.

You might expect the scenery to be the stereotypical Saskatchewan flat prairies, eh? However, the Wakamow Valley does in fact have a valley with higher-than-expected cliffs too.

The Moose Jaw River may be known as the river of turns, but it could also be the river of bridges. In our short 2+ km paddle out we passed under 7 bridges!
