Bigfoot donuts has a warm inviting interior, long tables for groups to gather, window seats for people watching or possible Bigfoot sightings!

The name Bigfoot came about as the owners sought to captures the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, wild, natural, imaginative, everything they want their donuts to be and also to connect with First Nations legends of Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or wild man.

Bigfoot's donut specialty is the yeast donut rather than cake donuts. Cake donuts are leavened with baking soda and baking powder, whereas yeast donuts are leavened with, you guessed it, yeast.

From original glazed to chocolate dipped, crullers and chocolate crunch there was a good selection. There was even a gluten free sour cream donut option.

After some considerable time deciding between the classic bigfoot donut and the key lime pie, the key lime pie won. My friend selected the best seller, the apple fritter. We just grabbed them to go before heading to the Comox Lake trails. We also purchased pint sized coffees as well. I barely had time to take a quick photo of the donut, before it was consumed. It was so delicious and so was the coffee!
