As we were packing up to leave, the sun was setting. It looked beautiful against the hill between the lake and parking lot. It's quite icy coming and going, so be careful!

Leaving a mound isn't good though either because a snowmobile could hit it and flip if it froze solid again. Best practice in my opinion is to flatten the slush around the edges and leave it exposed. They do freeze over quickly when not covered. Heck, they freeze over while I'm standing there fishing haha More ...
