Alberta Open Farm Days is a province-wide open house where farmers and ranchers invite their urban and rural neighbors to stop in for a visit.

So many activities to try this year at Chicks-N-Chaps Chaps this year!
Take a tour of the Bar OA Farms flower garden
View demonstrations of wheat grinding and pie assembly, or buy a pie kit to take home.
Cookie decorating and rock painting activities for kids.
Chicks N Chaps farm is located in Fort Saskatchewan and they'll be hosting their event Sunday, August 14 from 11 am-4 pm

Alberta Hemp Works is organizing a farmers market to celebrate Open Farm Days just 5 minutes north of Barrhead!
Alberta Hemp Works is a new, family-owned, women-led business working to promote, produce, process, and develop industrial hemp.

Join Nick and the team at Hartell homestead on August 13 and 14th for a behind-the-scenes tour of their farm where you will learn about their farm and how they strive to grow sustainably. You will also get to meet the highland cattle, ducks, chickens, and goats.
Hartell Homestead is also hosting a long table dinner this year! The meal will consist of 3 types of meat 2 sides a salad and an amazing dessert.
The cost of the meal is $79 per person

Lots of family-friendly activities including:
- Historic Work Horse Barn tour.
- Blacksmith demonstration.
- Hands-on (fake cow) milking experience.

Blindman Brewing is BACK for another year at Open Farm Days.
You might be wondering why breweries are a part of Open Farm Days. Brewers, distillers and chefs are all a big part of the food story in Alberta. Many local brewers and distillers use as many local ingredients as they can often from their neighbor's farms.

If Parkland County is in your travel area for Open Farm Days weekend, 16 Hands Stables Ltd has MANY activities and experiences for you and your family, especially if you have kids.
Many of the fun activities include opportunities to climb hay bales, hang out with goats and groom a pony.

Broxburn Vegetables & Cafe is back for another amazing Open Farm Days with lots of activities including FREE greenhouse tours at 11 am and at 1 pm and FREE hayrides around the farm between 10 am and 3 pm.
Feeling hungry? There will be an Open Farm Days feature menu in the café featuring our farm-grown vegetables.

The farm has been in the Ehrenholz family for 70 years and in recent years, they have refocused to produce local food, specifically beef and vegetables, which we have been selling in the local area for the past few years.
There are LOTS of opportunities for up-close agricultural experiences such as garden tours and cattle handling demos!

We're excited to have Good Morning Honey back with us again for Open Farm Days.
During your visit you'll be able to:
- Explore the honey extraction facility
- Honey and bee pollen tastings
- Wagon ride and live hive visit (bee suits included)
PLUS lots of crafty activities such as making your own beeswax candle and making your own beeswax food wrap.

The Nanton Elevators and they’re BACK participating in Open Farm Days this year, but this time as a designated Provincial Historic Resource.
The Nanton Grain Elevators are over 90 years old and remind us of our agricultural past.
