Finding a strawberry u-pick patch in Alberta is not the easiest task, especially southern Alberta. We took the drive to Innisfail to explore the Jungle Farms u-pick area. We loaded up 2 baskets of strawberries! There are loads of vegetables to pick as well, or prepicked items available in their barn store. The Jungle Farm has a fun play area in the front by the barn.
Apparently there is a whole "back section" to the farm too with a playground, slides, cornmaze, etc. We did not see this part of the farm this time as we had no idea it existed until after we left. So be sure to ask about the back play area if you're bringing the kids! There were no signs or mention of it around the farm that we saw or heard, but it sounds fun.
Worth the drive to Innisfail to pick your own strawberries!
Depending on the weather, the strawberry pick your own could be open until Thanksgiving weekend. Make sure to call ahead to be sure they have the items you want available.
The strawberries vary in size at the Jungle Farm. Be sure to pick the big ones but don't forget the small ones too! Everyone would like to enjoy the strawberry u-pick.
Here are a few things available at The Jungle Farm. The sign lists some of their activities, but no mention of the back playground or strawberry mountain...whatever that may be.
My curiosity is peeking as we missed an entire section of this farm!...

My curiosity is peeking as we missed an entire section of this farm! Will have to go back again to explore more.
Truth is, the strawberries are a solid hike from where you park. Be prepared to cross the farm on foot for about a 5-10 minute walk to the strawberry patch. A wagon might be good if you have little kids.
The strawberry patch is a ways away from the main store building. Wear appropriate shoes and come prepared for a bit of a walk across the farm to pick your own strawberries

Call ahead to make sure they do have what you are looking for. Items available change daily, so save the disappointment and just call and ask before heading out.
The staff will assign you a row to pick. You go to the end, collect a flag, and pick your way back to the beginning of the row. Then place your flag so they know it has been picked that day. Then onto another row if you'd like. Important you...
The staff will assign you a row to pick. You go to the end, collect a flag, and pick your way back to the beginning of the row. Then place your flag so they know it has been picked that day. Then onto another row if you'd like. Important you don't just jump around and do whatever you want. Please follow their rules so we can all enjoy the farm.
