Since the late 1800's Ainsworth Hotsprings has been a part of this little community on Kootenay Lake in British Columbia Canada. A unique hotspring pool with a cave system for an extra fun addition. There are 3 pools in total, a large soaking pool, the small cave pool and cave loop, and then the cold plunge pool. Overlooking the beautiful Kootenay Lake, complete with a restaurant and a hotel for close by accommodations. Located just south of Kalso in the east Kootenay region.

The cave system is accessed through that smaller pool, with the cave entrance on the right and the cave exit there on the left. The cave does go in and around quite a ways

There is an obvious water colour difference between the large hot pool and the small cave pool. The cave pool has a very murky mineral look to it.

Swimming in the warmer cave pool was more enjoyable for us in the -2 temperatures. The larger pool is a few degrees cooler than the cave pool.

Had to attempt a selfie inside this hotspring cave! Ainsworth Hotsprings is the 1st one I've ever visited with a cave.

The water will drip from the ceiling onto you while in the Ainsworth cave. But that makes for some pretty cool mineral formations inside.
