Hiking On The Cataraqui Trail: A Winter Wonderland Adventure
Discovering Iconic Landmarks and Waterfalls in Ontario
Witness the Magic of an Old Mill and the Spring Melt
Winter’s not over yet! Experience the breathtaking beauty of Ontario by hiking on the Cataraqui Trail right after a massive snowstorm. While the biting wind was braved by me to catch the fresh powder, the stunning scenery at [03:22] made every moment worthwhile. Additionally, the trail was found to be a serene escape where the snow-covered sumacs transformed the landscape into a masterpiece.
Furthermore, a detour was taken to explore the region's most iconic landmarks and waterfalls. Because the spring melt is starting to kick in, the raw power of nature is being displayed in spectacular fashion. The following historic sites were visited during this journey:
- Babcock Mill in Odessa: This 1856 old mill is beautifully framed by rushing cascades [04:53].
- Napanee Falls: The massive water volume at Springside Park is truly sights to behold [05:29].
- Forest Mills: Located on the Salmon River, this quiet gem roars this time of year [06:05].
- Chisholm’s Mills: The iconic tin-clad building on the Moira River is perfectly captured at [06:37].
In addition, the rich history of the area is highlighted by these landmarks. By following this hiking trail, a unique perspective on local heritage was gained.
