Coming up to our turn on Highway 17 we spotted a very large sign that outlined many of the features of Splash Valley Waterpark and Resort. "Largest Floating Water Playground"? Sounds good to us!

Interestingly, behind the large sign indicating we have arrived, there was a large Noah-style ark. We had to pull over and explore!

Out front of the Ark were a pair of zebra statues, clearly ready to board. Inside the Ark we found a small gift shop and a large, empty banquet room. Signs that this area was bustling with activity in a past life.

Even a giraffe was aboard the ark, with a clear view of the horizon, he was ready to launch.

Winding our way down the long road toward the campground, many more animal statues were to be found - including this tortoise amongst the beautiful and well-groomed flowerbeds.

Helping visitors find were they need to go, Jerry the Giraffe stands tall near the direction sign. "This way to the fun!" he seems to say.

Of course a whale doesn't need a ride in an ark, but he's handing around here to make sure everyone is having a good time.

At Splash Valley Waterpark and Resort, we were campsite 148 - a large, level site within walking distance of everything. We were glad we brought the inflatable paddle boards and kayak, as there was a put-in just across from our campsite.

This is the view our campsite looked on to. It was fun to watch families and children of all ages tackle the inflatable obstacle course. The course opened around 10AM, so not too early as to wake us up, and closed around 6PM, so not too late to keep us up either. We really enjoyed being this close to the action.

The day we arrived we did not have access to the waterpark, so we enjoyed rest and relaxation at our campsite. We set up the hammock, gathered our friends, and make an epic BBQ feast!

Now that's a view from the picnic table! These five kids have been camping together as long as they can remember, always a good time when they get together.

I'm not going to lie - I laughed out loud when I saw this 15 foot giant pink flamingo out in the bay with the waterpark obstacles at Splash Valley Waterpark and Resort. I knew there was a good time ahead!

Of course we pre-made frozen slushy drink from our collection of Glamping Essentials camp and cottage drink recipe cards. It travelled well and cooled us off that evening.

The area surrounding the campsites at Splash Valley Waterpark and Resort included grass fields, low hills, and forests... including this nature trail with a surprise at the end.

We explored a good portion of the lake on our paddle boards and kayaks and didn't come across any other visitors. Very peaceful, nature, and serene... until the waterpark section of course!
