Recently, the City of Kingston launched a pilot project to test a 100% natural, garlic-based spray (branded “Mosquito-Less”) in several parks, including Grass Creek Park. The active ingredient is garlic oil (1.25%), diluted in water, and then sprayed on the ground and surrounding areas. It’s reapplied every 3 to 4 weeks during the warmer months (spring, summer, fall) to maintain its pest-repellent effect. Some visitors say they can smell garlic after application, but we didn't smell anything. What we did find were NO TICKS on our dogs after their time at the off-leash dog park!
