2 Ave is already what I would call Saskatoon's downtown events and entertainment district. This is a fun area filled with restaurants, pubs, shops as well as event and entertainment venues. With the announcement of a future downtown arena and convention centre this is an area on the rise.
Having previously only sampled all that 2 Ave has to offer we decided to book a night downtown so that we could better explore all that this walkable area has to offer.
Stop number one was to test our cooperative sleuthing skills at Escape Manor, Saskatoon’s immersive entertainment lounge. There are many activities and escape rooms to choose from. It would be a fun place to hang out and spend an evening here...

Axe throwing is always a fun activity. At Escape Manor you can go head-to-head during the 60 minute Power Hour. They even have coaches to teach you how to throw so that you will be able to hit the bullseye in no time.
What could be better than a game of darts that automatically does the scoring for you? At Escape Manor in Downtown Saskatoon Saskatchewan there are four different darts games to pick from.
Arriving early for our escape room experience we decided to have a drink and enjoy Escape Room's lounge. There are quite a few board games to play while you wait for your booked experience.
Who wouldn't want a lobotomy, really? Thankfully, this was just a cocktail version. Made with rum, Malibu, pineapple, and Grenadine, this tastes like summer in a glass.
Can you still call it a success if it takes twice as long as the allotted time to escape from Arthur Bradford's Wine Cellar? I'm not sure if the staff were just being nice to make us feel better, however this is apparently the toughest escape...

We had worked up quite an appetite after our challenging escape room experience. Our next stop was at Congress Beer House for dinner. The Baja Tacos are excellent here.
Turns out mac and cheese with a side order of poutine makes for a great combination. Poutine is a dish that originated in Quebec, Canada. It is French fries, gravy and cheese curds and is fantastic.
And a Cereal Milk Crème Brûlée for dessert. You can tell we were hungry since the only photos we took of this social house and restaurant were of food. Now that our bellies were full, we were off to our third stop of the night.
If you aren't sure which beer to try, why not get a flight and sample a few. Altogether, one flight is the equivalent of a pint, but you get to try four different craft beers.

For this part of our stay, we booked at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Saskatoon. We were fortunate to have one of the newly renovated rooms. The hotel is next to Midtown Mall, is walking distance to 2nd avenue and beside the future downtown arena and convention centre. In fact, the hotel’s parking lot is the location for the new arena and convention centre. That is sure to be good for business for this hotel. Side note, this hotel has the best pillows.
