Muttart Conservatory is nestled into Edmonton's North Saskatchewan River Valley. It's unique pyramid shapes make it one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Of the four pyramids, three are climate regulated biomes and one is a featured pyramid with themed displays. There is a smaller, fifth pyramid over the Center Court. Muttart is home to one of Canada's largest indoor botanical gardens and is home to more than 700 different plants.

We enjoyed an beautiful evening excursion with a good friend to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and to enjoy some of Edmonton's wonderful accessible tourism activities.

The tropical pyramid is hot and humid. Being warm all year, this is a gret place to visit during a cold Canadian winter's day. It is definatley the most colourful pyramid. There is a waterfall feature complete with fish in this pyramid. It is also home to Edmonton's Corpse Flower, which I am thankful that it wasn't in bloom while we visited. Although, I will probably check it out one day, I am honestly not looking forward to experiencing its corpse like sent.

Slowing down for a moment to appreciate our suuroundings brings joy and fosters a greater sense of well-being and happiness. Not to mention that these flowers just great, well other than the corpse flower. I hear that one has a horrid smell. Still, probably something to experience once.

The arid biome is dry and desert-like. Although it features plants from hot dry climates from five continents, it feels like being in Arizona. As such, this will be another great place to take a mini-vacation during the cool Canadian winters.
