Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver offers many reasons to visit. This is scenic rugged coastline so bring your hiking shoes and camera. You can follow the trail to look across to Bowen Island and the waters of Howe Sound.
If the tide is right, you can walk across a connecting ridge of rocks and explore Whyte Islet. There is a small cove with beach area in the park and you can just swim to the islet instead.
There is a playground with assorted equipment. Also there is a building with washrooms near the parking area. Two portable toilets are down at the beach. You'll find benches and picnic tables as well as a covered picnic shelter. Bring your own lunch or stop by the concession building.
Whytecliff Park is also a popular place for scuba divers. You can access the water from the beach or from a boat further out in the bay.
The beach at Whytecliff Park is good for swimming, beachcombing or just enjoying the view. In the far distance is Vancouver around the area of the University of British Columbia.
