The first stop on our cross-Canada road trip was Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Because of the time of year, not many campgrounds were open and this proved the case in Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas. As a result, the first night of our road trip was spent in the parking lot at the Gateway Casino. With on-site security, and late access to washrooms, this proved to be an excellent stop for a one-night stay! Be sure to request permission in advance and check-in with security upon arrival.
