The BC Ferry trip from Tsawwassen on the British Columbia mainland to Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island passes through some amazing scenery. The ferry takes you in among the Gulf Islands and has many photo opportunities. You might be fortunate enough to see whales breaching, porpoises swimming nearby, or a seal bobbing in the water close to shore. 

I have taken many delightful trips during the warmer months and love to stand out on deck with my camera. On this trip, however, the skies were overcast and a cold wind was blowing. A few minutes outside in the blustery cold sent me back inside to enjoy the rest of the scenery from a comfy chair. 

Meals and snacks can be purchased onboard. There is a special room on the car deck for those traveling with dogs. Anyone visiting the province of British Columbia should also try to include Vancouver Island in their places to see. This trip is truly a visual site.
