You'll want to stop at the colourful Dunster General Store and also visit the museum located across the street in the old railway station. It had already closed for the day when I arrived.

I managed to get to the Dunster General Store just before closing time. The owner told me about the area and her store. She was very gracious but I'm sure she has answered similar questions many times before. Do take time to stop in as you travel...

The owner of the Dunster General Store imports these lovely baskets. They can be used for many purposes in a home or for shopping.

If you've ever been to Dunster BC, you might want a souvenir of your visit. As you travel from Prince George, through McBride, and east, Dunster is only a few minutes from the highway. It's approximately 31 km east of McBride.

T-shirts for sale. The community of Dunster is over 100 years old. This is an area of dairy farms. The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway used to transport cans of cream on the passenger trains. Trucks now get dairy products to market.

I love eclectic General Stores with such a mix of products - they always feel like you are on a treasure hunt in which you might find anything. -
Sonya Richmond It was almost closing time when I got there. I wish I'd had more time to really treasure hunt.
