High Falls on Onaping River: A Natural Wonder Near Sudbury, Ontario
Experience the awe-inspiring wonder of High Falls on Onaping River, near Sudbury, Ontario. Let the roaring waters and serene landscapes transport you to a world of natural marvels.
A beloved spot for both locals and tourists, this natural wonder captured the heart of the renowned Group of Seven artist A.Y. Jackson. Enjoy the view from the A.Y. Jackson Lookout at the visitor’s center along Highway 144, just north of Dowling.
Take a scenic 1 km riverside hike to the bridge atop the falls, then venture further into the serene forests along the marked 2 km loop for an unforgettable exploration.
There is a shorter trail that is a little further up the road from the lookout. It's steep at times but was manageable for my 85-year-old Grandmother with walking sticks.
Get out there and explore!
