Enjoy gaming? Always have your phone with you when you go out? Ever wonder what that bird, butterfly, insect, tree or creature is? Using free apps like iNaturalist and Seek makes Citizen Science feel like a game while making a huge contribution to conservation. This app is a great way to learn about nature in your backyard, community parks, local trails or while camping. Learn how to become a Canadian Explorer!!

In 2019, I sold my house, donated my possessions and quit my job to fund and begin a 4 year, 24,000 km trek across Canada on the world's longest recreational pathway - the Great Trail (formerly the Trans Canada Trail). We started in Cape Spear, NL on June 1st 2019 and we are walking west to Victoria, BC, and then venturing north from Fort Saskatchewan to Tuktoyaktuk, NT. While few others have made this trek in its entirety, none have done so for a cause and with the primary purpose of promoting diversity, accessibility and multiculturalism outdoors while striving to get youth engaged with and connected to nature.

This adventure is blogged, with new pictures and videos of Canada from the trail being posted regularly. It is fun to watch and free to follow along for anyone interested! So if you are curious about travelling Canada, fascinated by what our nation has to offer, or want to see what sorts of natural spaces and amazing wildlife we have right here check out our adventure!

We invite you to "Come Walk With Us" as we continue to hike across Canada on the Great Trail from 2019 until 2022. To follow our journey and learn more about our #Hike4Birds, please visit the links below:
