In the 1920's with the popularity of the automobile booming, plans began for the Blue Water Bridge and were designed by a man known as 'America's Greatest Bridge Builder' named Ralph Modjeski.
On October 10th, 1938 the first span of the Blue Water Bridge was opened.
On July 22nd, 1997 the second span of the Blue Water Bridge opened.
Built just 125 feet south of the original bridge to meet increased traffic and commercial demand.
