Not much can beat the character of an old dive bar with a notorious reputation. Especially when its stories have been immortalized in several novels. It was a quiet night when we visited so we got to learn all about the Gold Range's history from the Bar Manager. The Gold Range, also known as the Strange Range, was the first bar to serve draft beer in the NWT. In its hay day, this was THE place to be in town.
