Exploring SEA CAVES is one of my favourite things to do on the North Atlantic Ocean. I like to do this by means of a personal watercraft such as a jet ski or kayak. The Newfoundland and Labrador rugged island coastline is filled with natural waterfalls, caves, arches, fossils and other geological features. Bell Island is located on the Avalon Peninsula and is accessible only by water. The ferry service runs daily from the community of Portugal Cove and is approximately a 20 minute boat ride. You may take your vehicle on the boat! 

The coastline of Bell Island consists almost entirely of cliffs that tower up to 45 m above the surf and several special rock formations. The cliffs are also home to several sea caves and natural bridges which loverlook large rocks and sea stacks. The large sea stack, known as,"the bell", looks like an actual bell giving the scenic island its name. You can find many local boaters anchored off and hanging out near "the bell" in Summer. A great Canada adventure within driving distance from the capital city of St. John's NL.
