Yellow Point Community Park is not too far from the Duke Point ferry terminal which is how I came to visit the park. I had reservations on a later ferry so had time to explore. This was a lovely park in the countryside with quite a few arbutus trees. Time did not permit me to fully explore the park. What follows are first impressions.

Vancouver Island is blessed to have many arbutus trees. They are one of my favorites. Yellow Point Park has several near the parking lot. I wasn't able to spend much time exploring the trails so there may be many more.

You're welcome to bring your dog if it is on a leash. The grass is so dry I was glad to see the no smoking sign.

There were several very large rocks at Yellow Point Community Park. I can imagine children climbing on them.

The open grassy area has turned brown from lack of rain. One good rain and it will be green again. Lovely paths to walk or jog on.

Yellow Point Park is much larger than I was able to see in the short time I had. Another place I'd like to revisit with time to fully explore the area.

The rich reds and dark greens of the arbutus are so beautiful - especially in that dry landscape. gorgeous! -
Sonya Richmond I wish we could grow arbutus in Surrey. But they prefer rocky terrain. So beautiful.
