While at the University of Victoria attending a basketball tournament, I had some free time and looked around for a nearby park. A short car drive away I discovered the Arbutus Cove Park. What a delightful place. It offers a view out over the water and rugged coastline. There is an excellent, but long, flight of stairs down to the shore line. And, of course, there were those beautiful arbutus trees to enjoy.
Signage said this is part of the San Juan Gateway. With more time available, I'm sure I'd happily do more exploring.
This is the start of the very long flight of stairs down to the beach. Surrounded by trees, there's a lovely view of the forest opening out onto the water and beach.
