From Valemount BC heading to McBride, there is a road sign on the Yellowhead Hwy 16 pointing out Dunster, and a side road heading off to the south. When I passed that way in May of this year, I suddenly decided it was time to follow that road. It happened that the sun was low in the sky. The golden hour! Fields were flooded with a mixture of sunlight and shadow. Dunster, a small farming community, is just 31 km east of McBride. The Rocky Mountains are to the north and the Columbia Mountains to the south.
As I turn off the Yellowhead Hwy 16 towards Dunster, I continue through farmland. A cow grazes to the right of the road. I love exploring roads I've never been on before.
The light on the fields encourages me to explore this sideroad further. It seems I'm the only one here this evening to enjoy the evening light and to take photographs.
