The Port Rowan Wetlands are located in Norfolk, Ontario, Canada, within the Long Point World Biosphere Reserve. The Port Rowan Wetlands serve as a recreational trail and wildlife viewing area that supports a wide variety of species unique to the Long Point Bay area. Previously known as the Port Rowan Sewage Lagoons, the wetlands were originally established to naturally treat, store, and dispose of wastewater from the town. The construction of a new treatment facility in 2012 enabled the transformation of these lagoons into a vibrant wetland aimed at protecting and restoring habitats for species at risk. An interpretive trail network winds through the restored wetland, offering the public recreational and educational opportunities to learn about species at risk and their habitats. Whether you're an avid birdwatcher, a photographer, or simply seeking a peaceful walk, the Port Rowan Wetlands offers a glimpse into a diverse and vibrant ecosystem in Norfolk, Ontario, Canada.
