Elbow Falls is a beautiful small set of waterfalls on the Elbow River.
Located along Highway 66, 20 km (12 miles) west of Bragg Creek turnoff on Highway 22.
Only a short walk from the parking area this is a waterfall not to be missed!
The view from the lookout of the lower Elbow Falls. Unfortunately due to the snowy conditions, the trail to view the falls from the lower side was closed due to slippery conditions.
Waterfalls are created when river water erodes the weaker earth, rock, or sand of its original stream bed, pushing the rock aside and along with the water flows over time creating a waterfall.
Elbow Falls is located inside Kananaski's Country so you will need an Alberta Parks pass to avoid being ticketed. A daily pass is $15.00 and a yearly pass $90.00 and is available to purchase online.
A stunning winter wonderland it was!
