Stop at the Elbow River Day Use Area off Hwy 66 for a picnic. Upper site that l am on is wheelchair accessible. The lower picnic sites are not. Washrooms and Bear Bin Garbage Bins onsite.

The big parking lot at the Elbow River Day Use Area can accommodate lots of vehicles and even RVs.
Boat launch, picnic sites and trails nearby.

I would love to see this Bear Proof Bin in use! This is where the small garbage bins are dumped. What an incredible contraption to keep the bears out of the garbage!

The entrance to the Elbow River Boat Launch & Day Use Area from Hwy 66 is on the left in this photo. Easy to find, just minutes from the Town of Bragg Creek.

Please obey any Fire Restrictions or Bans. This area has several beautiful picnic spots away from the river which runs very fast and is extremely cold....

The Elbow River Provincial Recreation Area is a Day Use Only area open from 7am to 11pm
There is plenty of parking, Bear Bin garbage bin and pit-vault washrooms.

The Elbow River Provincial Recreation Area has many Day Use Sites that have lots of space for the kids to kick a ball or for outdoor games.
