South Alberta Parks & Trails

Little Fish Lake attracts many birds to the region. Some arrive to nest, some to feed and others to rest as they migrate north to south. It is a popular birdwatching location which is remote and out of the way.

The 43 hectare (106 acre) Nicholas Sheran Lake Park is a neighbourhood park with large grass lawns, groves of cottonwood trees, a recreation trail, a day use picnic area, a playground and access to sports fields.

Erin Woods Community Park is located in Southeast Calgary. This community park is great for community sporting activities or for the kids to burn off some energy at the kid's playground. Enjoy the open green spaces, winding walkways and towering evergreen trees.

Each of the three trails leads to natural viewpoints with views of the Oldman River and overlooking a valley of rolling coulees. The trails explore a grassland prairie environment with groves of cottonwood trees surrounded by clusters of saskatoon and buffaloberry bushes.
