The trail follows Lineman Creek most of the way through a forest environment. As the elevation increases the forest thins out and the trail breaks out onto a mountain slope with views of the falls.

Activities enjoyed in the Oldman Dam Recreation Area include kayaking, camping, birdwatching, canoeing, picnicking, boating, sailing, fishing, and wind surfing. There are boat launches located along the shores of the Oldman River reservoir, as well, as roof top canoe launches.

Fort MacLeod

Little Bow Provincial Park is one of the most popular and visited recreation destinations near Vulcan, Alberta, Canada. There is a campground for overnight stays at the reservoir and there is a picnic area for day trips to the reservoir.

The wooden fort consisted of sleeping quarters, a guard room, storage sheds and horse stables. The purpose of the fort was to investigate and get rid of the whisky traders who had set up shop in the region.

Little Fish Lake attracts many birds to the region. Some arrive to nest, some to feed and others to rest as they migrate north to south. It is a popular birdwatching location which is remote and out of the way.

Drumheller

The Carthew-Alderson Trail is considered a challenging and difficult route popular for hiking, wilderness camping, horseback riding and backpacking. The trail can be, either, a very long day hike or a two day backpacking adventure. Long day hikers should be experienced and very fit.

Waterton

When visiting Emerson Lake there are people walking their dogs, jogging, roller blading, taking day strolls, picnicking and birdwatching. Some stay in the park while others continue exploring on the Happy Trails Pathway.

The Coal Banks Trail is a network of pathways measuring over 30+ kilometres long popular for walking, biking, jogging, roller blading and sightseeing. The trail system is very baby stroller and wheelchair friendly in many sections.
