    Wild Horses in Alberta Canada

Did you know Alberta has wild horses? They roam freely in the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Most notably, west of Sundre into the public land use zones.

They are pretty used to cars and humans being nearby, some troops more than others. You'll often see them hanging out on, or just beside, the dirt roads.

Spring and early summer mean baby horses! I spotted a large number of young foals in various different herds while exploring around the Bearberry to Ya Ha Tinda backcountry roads.

Please keep in mind these are wild animals. Keep your distance, do not try to pet them or feed them.

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in that area, with a high chance of seeing them right from your campsite or cabin, check out Bearberry Cabins!

Walking along the Grand River at Patterson Park in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada, is a truly delightful experience. The well-maintained path follows along the shore of the Grand River in Caledonia, Ontario. Large trees line parts of the pathway, creating a comfortable, shaded walkway.

There are several scenic spots along the river walk perfect for a short rest. Benches are strategically placed along the path at Patterson Park, offering fantastic views of the Grand River. There are numerous locations where you can pause and take in views of the water as it flows by. Canada Geese, swans, and other waterfowl are often seen gliding across the surface, adding life to the peaceful area. Further along the trail, the path takes you to quieter, more secluded area of the park.

One section of the path enters an area with more trees creating more of a forested area. That part of the path is an ideal spot to enjoy the sounds of the flowing river, chirping birds, and the rustle of wildlife. Walking along the Grand River at Patterson Park in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada, provides a wonderful blend of exercise, natural beauty, and tranquility.
