The traditional summer festivities of Natsu Matsuri and the Bon Odori Festival are returning this summer in Toronto, Ontario, Canada!

When translated into English from Japanese, “natsu” (夏) is summer and “matsuri” (祭 り) is festival, so natsu matsuri can be understood as a summer festival.

Bon Odori (盆踊り), meaning simply "Bon dance", is Japanese folk dancing, with a 600 year old history.

The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre invites everyone to enjoy a lively festival atmosphere with games, great food, and spectacular performances. Many community organizations come together to make this a unique event. Weather permitting the event takes place outside in the parking lot or in the Kobayashi Hall. We look forward to another year of this exciting Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre and Community tradition. We hope to see lots of new and familiar faces. Mark your calendars now!
