Celebrate everything you love about Canada Friday, July 1 from 2 to 10 p.m. at Mel Lastman Square. Enjoy live music, dance performances and fun activities, followed by spectacular fireworks at 10 p.m. Admission is free.

This year’s event also marks the 100-year anniversary of North York. Attendees are encouraged to share their day using hashtags #CanadaDayTO and #NorthYork100.

Main stage has: Taiko drumming by Nagata Shachu at 2 p.m.; Moneka Arabic Jazz at 3 p.m.; singing of O’Canada by Tara Moneka at 4:30 p.m.; DJ Sofia Fly at 6:45 p.m.; Quique Escamilla at 7:45 p.m.; DJ Sofia Fly at 8:30 p.m.; and Odario at 8:45 p.m.

Look for pop-up performances by Big Smoke Brass at 2:45, 4:30 and 5:45 p.m.

Take in Bollywood dance workshops by Kanushree Jain at 5:15 and 6:15 p.m.

And view ApHeart by Moonhorse Dance Theatre at 3:15 p.m.

Fun activities from 2:15 to 7:15 p.m. include airbrushed temporary tattoos with Picasso Painters; and draw and share your self-portrait at the ‘Our Country of A Thousand Colours’ activity by Muse Arts.
