Bridge to Westham Island from Delta British Columbia Canada
The bridge to Westham Island from River Road W in Delta BC is an old truss bridge with a wooden deck. The bridge takes single lane traffic over Canoe Pass near the mouth of the Fraser River. The Reifel Bird Sanctuary is on Westham Island so I have passed this way many times.
Tonight I have parked my car on River Road W and walked partway over the bridge deck to take photographs. To my left are a number of house boats. To my right is marsh land where I have seen swans nesting in the past. As the sun goes down, I notice the air is filled with the sound of small birds. It is a beautiful calm evening.
The Fraser River is a popular for fishing.
