A beautfiul National Park located 35 minutes east of Edmonton, Alberta along the Yellowhead Highway in Fort Saskatchewan. Elk Island was founded in 1906 as an Elk Preserve, and is now a place where a variety of wildlife can be found. Parks Canada actively manages the bison population and provides information about the measures taken to help the bison avoid extinction.
