About the Ferry:

The Halifax–Dartmouth Ferry is one of the oldest continuously running saltwater ferry systems in the world. It’s also part of the city’s public transportation system, making it incredibly affordable and easy to use.

Our Experience:

We boarded the ferry at the Halifax Ferry Terminal, just a short walk from the cruise port and downtown. The ride to Dartmouth took about 10 minutes, with open-air seating and windows offering panoramic views of the water and city.

  • No need to book in advance - just tap your transit card or buy a ticket on-site.
