The Nicola Lake day use area and boat launch is approximately10 kilometres north of Merritt on Highway 5A. There is a boat launch accessing Nicola Lake also in the Monck Provincial Park just outside the city limits on Highway 5A. The Stump Lake day use picnic area and boat launch is about 40 kms further down the same highway.
