Sunshine Coast Parks and Places

The park is situated around a natural rock pier protruding out from the shoreline. There is a pathway leading out to the point for a grand view of the coastline

Gambier Island is located out in Howe Sound past Woolridge Island (smaller island between Sunshine Coast and Gambier Island). Gambier Island is a hiking, biking, camping, kayaking and boating rural retreat with many bays for moorage, camping and hiking trails.

Gibsons

Mount Daniel Hiking Trail is an uphill climb covering 3-4 km (1.8 - 2.5 mi.) each way. The hike up the steep grade should take (1-2 hr ) to reach the peak. Coming back takes less time as you trek down the mountain.

The hike is a full day adventure taking up to 3-6 hours round trip to complete. While trekking and exploring up the Confederation Lake Trail there are some views of Powell Lake and Inland Lake.

The small waterfront park is a day use destination area that is a popular gathering place for visitors interested in enjoying a picnic, a game of horseshoes, a day out scuba diving, swimming, playing outdoor volleyball or to launch a boat.

The area is a popular destination for swimming fishing and for beach activities. There are picnic tables onsite and a leisure easy grade trail exploring around the perimeter of Ruby Lake. The loop hiking trail is approximately 0.8 km long.

Highway 101

Egmont

The walking and biking trail is enjoyed by all ages and abilities. The park and trail has been designed for easy walking and is fully wheelchair accessible spread out over 2,763 hectares. There are Totem Poles onsite from carvers Jackie Timothy and Terry Chapman.

The Gibsons Waterfront Seawalk explores along the coastline of Gibsons Harbour revealing the marine atmosphere of the community, as well as, providing beautiful marine scenery.

Chaster Park is located in Gibsons on the lower portion of the Sunshine Coast. The area is a popular day use destination for picnics, beach walks and beach combing, especially at low tide.

The hiking-only park is a popular gathering place for families, walkers, photographers and naturalists. The four walking hiking trails are well marked and are all loop trails.

Clack Creek Mountain Bike Loop Trail is a challenging mountain bike adventure that covers 12.3 km (7.4 mi.) cutting through forests exploring any of the many off-shoot trails.

Chapman Creek is a hiking and biking trail located south of Sechelt, BC in the area of Davis Bay on the lower section of the Sunshine Coast.

The 17 km ( 10.5 mi.) Lyon Lake Loop Trail is considered a difficult route which explores through forests with some elevation views. The route should take no longer than 2-3 hours to complete for the experienced biker.
