Fort Steele Heritage Town is a step back in time. The site is one of the larger heritage town attractions in British Columbia. And there are many. The big appeal of the Fort Steele Town attraction is the abundance of activity, the historic buildings and the friendly pioneer actors.

Swansea Mountain is a hang gliding hot spot with 3 launch sites. For those who do not like to jump off mountains, Swansea is also the place to access to enjoy some far reaching views over looking the Columbia Valley.

Kimpton Creek Trail is a 7 km hiking trail exploring second growth forests and a river eco system in the Kootenay National Park near the Town of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia, Canada.

Radium Hot Springs

The Blanket Creek Park is planted in a forest of white pine, western cedar and second growth western hemlock trees. The park on Upper Arrow Lake includes a day use area, car top boat launch, campground and hiking trails. The boat launch is not directly on the lake and requires a short portage.

Revelstoke

Canyon Park includes 30 picnic sites (some shaded from the sun) with fire pits. There is a baseball diamond, a horse arena, a horse racing track, horseshoe pits, a playground, a bandstand shelter, a fitness circuit and some washrooms.

Kimberley Nature Park is one of the largest multi-use municipal parks in Canada that falls within the city limits of a community. The large 800 hectare (1800 acres) nature park is located in the community Kimberley, BC in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada.

Hikers, bikers, dog walkers and roller bladders enjoy the 8 kilometre paved loop trail and side roads called the "Wasa Lions Way" path. For a slower pace, there is a short 2.7 kilometre interpretive path named the "Forest of the Rainshadow" which begins at the amphitheatre near the campground.

Norbury Lake Provincial Park is a prime location for a bevvy of outdoor camping activities like hiking, walking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and birdwatching. Norbury Lake Provincial Park is a recreation destination located southeast of the community of Cranbrook, BC Canada

There are viewing benches constructed around Maiden Lake. Ideal front row seats for birdwatching, people watching and having lunch. At one end of the lake is a small sandy beach and a swimming pier.

St. Mary Lake is popular for fishing, canoeing, swimming and birdwatching. The roads and mountains around St. Mary Lake are popular for hiking, cycling, mountain biking and hiking. The St Mary River enters and exits the lake. The exit river is a good put- in point for rafting.

Begbie Creek Trail is an easy-going 2 kilometre hiking trail leading to a waterfall, the shores of Upper Arrow Lake and some mountain climbing routes. The popular trail is located south of the community of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada on the west side of Upper Arrow Lake.

The 12 kilometre K&S Wagon Road Trail is popular for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATVing in the summer months and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
