Kootenay Parks and Trails

Combined, the hiking trails provide 5 kilometres of adventure. During the summer months the trails are popular for hiking, walking, self guided nature tours, photography and birdwatching. In the winter the trails are used as cross country ski routes.

Begbie Falls is fabulous waterfall find located south of the community of Revelstoke, BC., Canada. Thew waterfall is located where Begbie Creek empties into Upper Arrow Lake. Begbie Falls is accessed by various hiking routes and by one rough, narrow, gravel road.

Verigins Tomb is a monumental Doukhobor burial place located in Brilliant, which is a short distance north of downtown Castlegar, BC in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. In total there are 5 people buried. All, of which, are descendants of Peter V. Verigin - leader of the Doukhobor.

Hikers, bikers, dog walkers and roller bladders enjoy the 8 kilometre paved loop trail and side roads called the "Wasa Lions Way" path. For a slower pace, there is a short 2.7 kilometre interpretive path named the "Forest of the Rainshadow" which begins at the amphitheatre near the campground.

The Blanket Creek Park is planted in a forest of white pine, western cedar and second growth western hemlock trees. The park on Upper Arrow Lake includes a day use area, car top boat launch, campground and hiking trails. The boat launch is not directly on the lake and requires a short portage.
