Kootenay Parks and Trails

Mount MacPherson Trails is an extensive network of inter-connecting trails popular for mountain biking and hiking near the community of Revelstoke, BC in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The trails, during the winter months, are popular cross country ski trails.

Christina Crest Trail is a 20 kilometre one-way mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and horseback riding route exploring the vast wilderness landscape, in and around, the Santa Rosa Summit on the Cascade Highway located west of the community of Rossland

The small recreation site is a two tiered campground with a small day use park. The lower tier of campsites rest on the shores of the lake and have lake access. The top tier backs onto the forest with views of the lake. They tend to be more private.

Jaffray

Hikers, bikers, dog walkers and roller bladders enjoy the 8 kilometre paved loop trail and side roads called the "Wasa Lions Way" path. For a slower pace, there is a short 2.7 kilometre interpretive path named the "Forest of the Rainshadow" which begins at the amphitheatre near the campground.

The SS Moyie is recognized as a National Historic Site and a BC Landmark. The well maintained and restored paddle wheeler is a historic museum. Inside are displays of pictures, artifacts and models depicting the history of the early 1900s living life on Kootenay Lake.

Koocanusa Lake is a 144 kilometre long man made reservoir lake located west of Fernie. The lake is created by the Libby Dam on the Kootenay River located in Montana, U.S.A. The lake is popular for fishing, houseboating, fishing, swimming, boating and kayaking.

Cranbrook

The park is a very popular summer lake destination for adventure, beach, sun and fun. The 14 hectare park includes a sandy beach, grassy lawns, wheelchair accessible flush toilets, change rooms, running cold water taps, lakefront playground, many picnic tables - with some under the shade of trees.
