Gulf Islands Parks, Trails and Places

These Cortes Island hiking trails explore wetland areas, the shores of Hague and Gunflint Lakes and some summits. Some of the points of interest to consider visiting when exploring the trails in the park include Swim Rocks, Easter Bluffs, a historic Steam Donkey and some Inca Ruins.

Mansons Landing

Octopus Islands Provincial Marine Park is located off the coast of Quadra Island of the Discovery Islands, Gulf Islands BC, Canada. The islands park is a popular moorage destination for boaters and it is a popular destination for ocean kayaking enthusiasts.

The point is ideal for beachcombing, sightseeing and for viewing the ocean, the marine activity, as well as, Mount Washington on Vancouver Island.

Lacon Road

Some of the activities enjoyed in the park include picnicking, sightseeing, beachcombing, swimming and hiking. There is a short hiking trail following the shoreline exploring through trees leading from the parking lot to the day use area.

Barrett Road

The highlights of Roesland attract people to the park. Some of the highlights include Row House (the museum), the hiking trail to the tip of Roe Islet (amazing marine views) and the hiking trail to Roe Lake located above Shingle Bay.

South Otter Bay Road

The burial grounds are the resting place for many of the First Nations people who first inhabited the island. Standing tall, marking many of the grave sites, are a number of ceremonial Totem Poles. Some of which are very old, faded and have fallen to the ground - some say, they are returning back
