Gulf Islands Parks, Trails and Places

Brickyard Beach is located on False Narrows. The narrows separate Gabriola Island from Mudge Island and Vancouver Island. From the shore of the beach there are views of birds and marine activity. There are boats and kayaks often exploring the area.

South Road

Besides kayaking, boating and sailing, Dionisio Point Provincial Park is a popular destination for scuba diving, hiking, beachcombing, swimming, wildlife watching, birdwatching, picnicking and wilderness walk-in camping.

Cook Road

Fillongley Provincial Park is popular for many outdoor activities including hiking, picnicking, sightseeing, birdwatching, kayaking, camping and horseback riding.

Beadnell Road

St. Mary's Lake is on the northern end of Salt Spring Island, BC is popular for canoeing, kayaking, boating, birdwatching, picnicking, sightseeing and swimming.

Lang Road

The park is a recreation destination for hiking, sightseeing, birdwatching and picnicking. There a few short hiking trails in the park. Some explore the cliff views, while others explore a forest.

Burrill Road

On Salt Spring Island, from the Baynes Peak Summit on Mount Maxwell the mountain park enjoys ocean, mountain and island views of Burgoyne Bay and the Sansum Narrows.

Ganges

Bere Point Park is a popular beach destination on the island. The park provides great ocean scenery and an opportunity to view some wildlife. The regional park includes a pebbled and sandy beach, campsites, pit toilets, a boat launch and a day use picnic area with picnic tables and fire pits.

Sointula

Cape Mudge Lighthouse on Quadra Island of the Discovery Islands, BC, Canada is located on the southern tip of the island so to protect and mark the entrance to the Discovery Passage.

Lighthouse Road

Some of the activities enjoyed in the park include picnicking, sightseeing, beachcombing, swimming and hiking. There is a short hiking trail following the shoreline exploring through trees leading from the parking lot to the day use area.

Barrett Road

These Cortes Island hiking trails explore wetland areas, the shores of Hague and Gunflint Lakes and some summits. Some of the points of interest to consider visiting when exploring the trails in the park include Swim Rocks, Easter Bluffs, a historic Steam Donkey and some Inca Ruins.

Mansons Landing

The totem pole measures 53 metres tall. That is about 173 feet for our American friends. Jimmy Dick was the Chief Carver. The traditional figures on this pole represent many of the families that belong to the Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation.

Boundary Road

Alert Bay

The park includes a 2 kilometre long sand spit, hiking trails, sandy beaches and a small protected cove. Ideal for swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, scuba diving, sailing and picnicking.

There is an 4 kilometre one way hiking route that connects Orlebar Point with Gabriola Sands Provincial Parks. From Orlebar Point the hiking route follows a rocky shoreline.

Berry Point Road

The park is a popular launching point for boats and kayaks because of the protected waters and ease of access to the launch

East Road

The Gabriola Island park is a popular gathering spot for many activities. Some of the activities include hiking, beachcombing, birdwatching, kayaking, scuba diving, picnicking and sightseeing.
