Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada is a beach resort community located on the shores of Nottawasaga Bay and the banks of the Nottawasaga River. The bay is situated at the southern end of Georgian Bay on Lake Heron. 

Longest Freshwater Beach in the World


Wasaga Beach is said to measure about 14 kilometres long making it the longest freshwater beach in the world. The long sandy beach community is part of Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. The beaches are seperated into sections and are part of the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park.

The 1844 hectare provincial park includes 8 beaches totally 14 kilometres. Beach sections 1-6 can be accessed from Mosley Street in the community of Wasaga. The remaining sections are accessed best near Nottawasaga River on River Road East. Some of the other top parks, trails and places of interest in and near the Wasaga Beach region is Nancy Island Historic Site and Sunshine Park.
