The 10.2 kilometer Sandspit Spit Walk can be hiked, walked or biked for a good workout. Begin anywhere along the shoreline or from nearby Tacan Road.

This family-friendly trail provides stunning views of the Hecate Strait and Skidegate Inlet as well as ample opportunity for bird and whale watching.

At low tide, deviate from the well-established locals trail and walk the beach and Sand Spit for a bit more variety. Be wary of the beach area during high winds.

Note that motorized vehicles are not permitted on the trail and dogs must be on a leash.
