Waterfalls in the Crowsnest Pass
Rainbow Falls is one of the many beautiful waterfalls in southern Alberta, Canada. Found in the small historic town of Coleman in the Crowsnest Pass. It's approximately 1km to reach the falls on the easy hiking trail.
Finding Rainbow Falls Trailhead
When searching for the trailhead for Rainbow Falls, you'll want to look for the Coal Miner's Path. This is the historic trail that will guide you to the waterfall in Coleman, Alberta. This trail is very easily found in the back end of Flumerfelt Park just off of the Crowsnest Hwy (Hwy 3).
Hiking to Rainbow Falls Alberta
This is a fantastic family friendly hike. Recommended for all skill levels in optimum weather. It's considered easy with a relatively flat trail all the way. Definitely some rocks and roots to look out for. Not wheelchair accessible though. Partway, you will come across a gate. Go through the gate, but don't forget to close it behind you. It's an enjoyable 1km walk along the creel before you arrive at a small viewing platform at the base of the falls.
4 Season Trails in Crowsnest Pass
It's an easy hike on the summer months, so would make a great winter snowshoeing trail. Although the falls may not be overly spectacular at that time of year, the trail itself is beautiful. This is also a phenomenal trail to escape the southern Alberta wind that is known to kick up in this area. Sheltered by the trees and small valley along the way, also great to avoid the full sun of summer.

While exploring the Crowsnest Pass, add Rainbow Falls to your list of things to do. It's a nice e short easy hike that starts and ends at a really fun park, that even has a splash pad spray park. Maybe you'll want to treat yourself after this leisurely hike and pop into the local bakery for some snacks and drinks. There's plenty to do in this pocket of Alberta, so give yourself some time to explore it!
