Alex Dobler Salmon Centre

Lang Creek on the Sunshine Coast of BC

The Alex Dobler Salmon Centre is located just above the estuary on Lang Creek on the Sunshine Coast of BC. This site has a spawning channel with multiple areas where you can view the Salmon, a hatchery building and a large area for outdoor learning.

Hatchery Alex Dobler Salmon Centre

Take a stroll around the hatchery grounds and read some of the many signs that are there to educate you on Salmon Preservation. Since Lang Creek feeds right into the Malaspina Strait and then out to the Pacific Ocean that makes it a doorway for the returning Salmon making their way back home to spawn.

When to visit

Visiting here in the late fall months is an absolute must as you get to witness the spawning channel full of the returning Salmon that have made their way back to the spawning grounds!
